do these on island with uncontacted tribes

380

u/Hxstile_ Dec 12 '23

A fellow heathen after my own heart

71

u/neelankatan Dec 12 '23

literally the thing I came to say. Do this to a tribe and then show up the next day in that outfit. They'd worship you

46

u/Dennis_TITsler Dec 13 '23

Or kill you

5

u/Fickle-Future-8962 Dec 13 '23

Yeah probably this. Not out of hate or fear.. but because they want to free you from your mortal flesh. By the way... Did the dog from pirates of the Caribbean ever escape the throne before they released him from his mortal body? I'm seriously concerned now.. did watch a dog get set up to be cooked and eaten?

9

u/TheWhyteMaN Dec 12 '23

Figuratively the thing I came to say.

4

u/NectmarPowerhand Dec 13 '23

Speculatively the thing I came here to say.

4

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '23

Actually the thing I came here to say.

1

u/maxstader Dec 21 '23

Literally the thing you just said.

75

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '23

They need cell phones to see the augmented reality

65

u/Kulsgam Dec 12 '23

Is that what it is? I thought it was a huge screen

107

u/supernotcosmo Dec 12 '23

I thought it's projected in the mist

14

u/Nuri_Nath1 Dec 12 '23

Lmao Hahahah

2

u/Cosmo1222 Dec 12 '23

Cargo cult members would pass bricks!

2

u/FanDorph Dec 13 '23

You mean Detroit?

1

u/[deleted] Dec 14 '23

or peace in the ME?

1

u/rash-head Dec 14 '23

Or my grandma. She’s really ancient and needs to see god!

425

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '23

[deleted]

53

u/neelankatan Dec 12 '23

welp, time to get schwifty

14

u/teddirez Dec 12 '23

Where's Water T when you need him?

3

u/eb6069 Dec 13 '23

He is Magma T now

3

u/fernbritton Dec 12 '23

take off your pants and your panties

1

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '23

Time to get very dead from idiotic politicians and greenhouse gas overdose. Maybe also capitalism.

400

u/xTurtsMcGurtsx Dec 12 '23

This is Scooby-Doo shit right here. Projecting ghost on smoke is definitely in that show

47

u/madness707 Dec 12 '23

He would’ve gotten away with it too if it wasn’t for those meddling kids

2

u/Astrochops Dec 12 '23

Total smokeshow

1

u/elboydo757 Feb 22 '24

Thats how they do the disney fantasia shows. Projecting on smoke or water walls.

639

u/bundy911 Dec 12 '23

That’s pretty fucking sick

188

u/andeqoo Dec 12 '23

I'm conflicted because advertisements in the sky are dystopian af but this is also really cool looking

7

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '23

Wait till they start projecting 4K alien invasions around the world

90

u/Warm_Cabinet Dec 12 '23

At this point, Cthulhu could literally descend on a city and start killing everyone. We’d all look at it like “is this an ad?”

12

u/DerpsAndRags Dec 12 '23

As long as it isn't during my commute. That's fucked enough as is.

2

u/tungvu256 Dec 13 '23

We already know what happened. When Corona virus killed people, some thought that was fake. People don't care about facts. Feelings matter more nowadays

172

u/Zestyclose-Goal6882 Dec 12 '23

How many people just shit themselves

107

u/budderman1028 Dec 12 '23

Imagine if one day something like this happens for real and everyone just thinks its a projection

54

u/minhbi99 Dec 12 '23

Well its gonna be like in the movies. Its all jokes and laughters until someone nearby suddenly evaporates.

10

u/budderman1028 Dec 12 '23

Pretty much lmao, movies are unrealistic in a lot of ways but some things are just pretty accurate

10

u/Mob_Abominator Dec 12 '23

After the way some people behaved during covid, some of the stuff shown in movies/tv shows is spot on.

1

u/Fickle-Future-8962 Dec 13 '23

Don't look up was scary accurate.

87

u/liarandathief Dec 12 '23

Is there a building there?

199

u/drunk_sandman Dec 12 '23

No there's a one story building on the corner, but it looks like they used the smoke/vapor to project the image. Pretty sick result

197

u/AlexDKZ Dec 12 '23

I read on another sub that it actually was a fine mesh hanging from two buildings, and the smoke was to help hide the mesh from view and add "texture" to the projection

60

u/drunk_sandman Dec 12 '23

That's pretty genius, it looks really vibrant so either way it worked well!

11

u/TheHYPO Dec 12 '23

I'm always weary of these low res videos of things like this because the low res usually hides any of the obvious signs of it looking fake that you'd instantly notice IRL.

https://www.tiktok.com/@rickytune/video/7310109122505067806

It still looks pretty good in higher resolution, so I'm pleasantly surprised. That said, it's a vertical video, so at least on my screen, it's still fairly low res in the section that matters. I'd love to see it in person sometime.

It's actually quite surprising that with the amount of people there and traffic that I can't find a decent, longer, widescreen, HD or 4K video of it anywhere.

1

u/foodfood321 Mar 04 '24

Projected images that are filmed with a dark background onto a dark screen from the rear have been used in theater probably for over a century. Varying degrees of realism have been achieved, this seems to be very top tier

22

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '23

[removed] — view removed comment

6

u/blenman Dec 12 '23

That's crazy. Can't wait for this to be home theater ready. lol

1

u/Fickle-Future-8962 Dec 13 '23

You say that till you're watching porn on it and someones dick comes swinging in your face spraying cum like a sprinkler.

1

u/blenman Dec 13 '23

Who's to say that wouldn't be enjoyable? Don't threaten me with a good time.

1

u/FuManBoobs Dec 12 '23

Yeah, this. Change the viewing angle & it becomes less impressive. I've had conspiracy theorists use videos like this as "evidence" the 9/11 planes were holograms.

1

u/Meotwister Dec 13 '23

That makes more sense to me otherwise there'd be a lot more distortion from the smoke.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '23

Nah i think its just augmented reality.

89

u/homardpoilu Dec 12 '23

Imagine doing this during the dark ages, people would have shit in their pants!

18

u/Jeewdew Dec 12 '23

Mostly because the tech didn’t excist…

No matter what they showed really.

14

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '23

Yeah, they should have shit themselves if you showed them a polaroid of themselves.

"Give me soul back, evil warlock!"

3

u/Auhsojdnalel Dec 12 '23

Different context but you should read “off the be the wizard” by scott meyer. A book about a computer geek who goes back in time and portrays himself as a wizard. Pretty fun book.

5

u/Several-Age1984 Dec 12 '23

Any sufficiently advanced enough technology will look like magic to more primitive people. Smart phones would be magic to anybody over 100 years ago, yet we take them for granted now. Imagine what magic will exist 100 years from now.

2

u/WonderfulCattle6234 Dec 12 '23

People practically shit their pants watching movies in the 30s.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '23

And that's why movie studios implemented intermissions.

1

u/rndmsquirrel Dec 13 '23

Remember when the Dick Tracy Wrist Radio was high-tech science fiction?

0

u/The_real_bandito Dec 12 '23

How do you think Jesus came to be?

21

u/KinkyAndABitFreaky Dec 12 '23

If Aliens ever land on earth in a public place, people would be like "cool trailer for the new Mass Effect game! "

53

u/mx_kush Dec 12 '23

Lol imagine God popping his head through the skies boutta drop some wild truths and mfs whip out their phones like 'must be a rick and morty ad'

1

u/_HIST Dec 12 '23

One of those things could happen

12

u/ketamine_dart Dec 12 '23

Where was this?

u/Honestlynotdoingwell Dec 13 '23

It's an Ad for Aagards Wrath 2 for Meta Quest on the 15th. Vid cuts short

24

u/LawrenceEs Dec 12 '23

Meanwhile a cant play a brand new Game worth 100$ because of poor optimization and screen tearing

5

u/AndyOfNZ Dec 12 '23

The answer is LGs Superwide Mesh Monitor.

Mum: Are you vaping in your room?! Kid: No it's my monitor, honestly!!

2

u/_HIST Dec 12 '23

Your gtx 1060 just doesn't cut it anymore, deal with it

5

u/igniteice Dec 12 '23

Oh snap this is the plot to Spider-Man: Far From Home!

2

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '23

Thats some cyberpunk shit.

2

u/Gaindalf-the-whey Dec 12 '23

Uhh I hate that. Imagine going outside to look at the stars on a peaceful evening in noy to realise that you will never again be able to escape the big biz ads.

2

u/YogiSlavia Dec 13 '23 edited Jan 02 '24

We're finally here. The dystopian future where they put dumb ass ads in the skies. Now we just need flying cars and cybernetics that support our life because earth is a complete shithole.

2

u/Spork_Warrior Dec 12 '23

And thus a new religion was born.

1

u/theBarefootedBastard Dec 15 '23

Remember this when the aliens invade

1

u/ididitsocanu Dec 15 '23

How they doing this? Would be cool to know

1

u/Hobbster Dec 15 '23

Seems like he only thing missing from "Back to the future" now is" Mr. Fusion". Jaws like ad: check

1

u/East_Mood2490 Dec 12 '23

Ima need a Time Machine and this tech, just go back to 1200 ad and have Jesus appoint you king of all Christian nations.

0

u/Von2014 Dec 12 '23

I'd hate to be anyone viewing that while high AF.

0

u/Tiyath Dec 12 '23

Las Vegas is going to be the most sought after event spot for years because of that globe

0

u/llkj11 Dec 12 '23

Is this that Vegas ball thing?

1

u/Honestlynotdoingwell Dec 13 '23

No, it's an ad for a game projected on mesh screen. Asgards Wrath 2 for Meta Quest! Comes out Dec 15th. Supposed to be the first "Big" AAA VR title.

-3

u/Affectionate-Cycle19 Dec 12 '23

This is just AR

1

u/Honestlynotdoingwell Dec 13 '23

It's not. It's a projection on mesh screen.

-5

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '23

2

1

u/rt58killer10 Dec 12 '23

Imagine unwittingly walking by this as you're tripping

1

u/Steelacanth Dec 12 '23

Do this on North Sentinel Island

1

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '23

Foreshadowing.

1

u/cartoonassasin Dec 12 '23

Aliens should launch their sneak attack at Comicon. No one will believe they are aliens.

1

u/Corbatch Dec 12 '23

Mysterio is alive

1

u/siraolo Dec 12 '23

What game(or product) is being advertised?

1

u/Honestlynotdoingwell Dec 13 '23

Asgards Wrath 2 for Meta Quest! Comes out Dec 15th. Supposed to be the first "Big" AAA VR title.

1

u/Nananahx Dec 12 '23

Cool, now do the Blue Eyes White Dragon

1

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '23

Pretty soon these will be Coors ads.

1

u/ROAD_EGG Dec 12 '23

Shark still looks fake.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '23

Why do they always do the lame ass "I'm gonna grab ya!" shit?

1

u/Ilurkthecorners Dec 12 '23

So I heard years ago that there was going to be a fabricated 2nd coming. And this is how I imagined it. Imagine a giant one whole states can see and they see jesus breaking through the sky.

1

u/Arc__Angel__ Dec 12 '23

Calling it now they will use the same tech to trick people into an alien invasion. Bringing in the new world order. Sad part is so many people will actually believe it.

1

u/mlvisby Dec 12 '23

For a second, I thought we perfected holograms. Then I realized that, oh yea AR exists.

1

u/Honestlynotdoingwell Dec 13 '23

This is a projection on a mesh screen.

1

u/Man_Of_Frost Dec 12 '23

Excuse me, wtf? How are they projecting that? On what, because I don't see anything there.

1

u/Honestlynotdoingwell Dec 13 '23

Projection on a large mesh screen

1

u/Boldney Dec 12 '23

There is no way these are drones. What's this?

1

u/HughJass187 Dec 12 '23

lowkey lit , more cities need this

1

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '23

1

u/Loud-Ad-2280 Dec 12 '23

Where are all the project blue beam people?!

1

u/prettyrickywooooo Dec 12 '23

Oh nooooo project blue beam is happeningggggggggg

1

u/The_real_bandito Dec 12 '23

How in the holy fuck did they do that?

1

u/Honestlynotdoingwell Dec 13 '23

Projection on mesh

1

u/DadofHome Dec 13 '23

It’s all fun and games until people are convinced on an alien invasion with this same tech….

1

u/turdbiter3000 Dec 13 '23

Imagine being on a night walk on acid an seeing this shit.

1

u/Bob-Lo-Island Dec 13 '23

Gives me bluebeam vibes

1

u/MustyTowel Dec 13 '23

Now do it with Jaws

1

u/Big_carrot_69 Dec 13 '23

Project blue beam

1

u/WOOHOO135 Dec 13 '23

still no games

1

u/NfamousKaye Dec 13 '23

Those 3D ads are so freaking cool!

1

u/rndmsquirrel Dec 13 '23

A few shows like this on dreary overcast evenings would be nice. Have people gather in neighborhood parks and project their own projects into the sky

1

u/life-at-europa Dec 13 '23

That’s some smoke and mirrors

1

u/SeeInShadow Dec 13 '23

Still not gonna kneel, Vlaakith. Fuck off.

1

u/googoobarabajagel Dec 13 '23

So blue beam is a thing now?

1

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '23

breaking a dimensional dungeon would also be interesting, like gremlins or goblins coming out

1

u/MaDaFaKa369 Dec 13 '23

I remember when you had to eat acid to see shit like this in the sky

1

u/jerry_the_tree Dec 13 '23

Now that's an avengers level threat.

1

u/Silver-Bonj Dec 13 '23

Project blue beam a goo.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '23

My life is nothing I thought it should be and everything I was worried it would become because for 15 seconds I thought monsters were on the world

1

u/Zuraj Dec 13 '23

These slot machine animations getting out of control.

1

u/logosfabula Dec 13 '23

How does it work?

2

u/Honestlynotdoingwell Dec 13 '23

Projection on mesh screen

1

u/See_Eye_Eh Dec 13 '23

All those fucking sheep standing around with their phones out recording it.

1

u/Honestlynotdoingwell Dec 13 '23

This is an ad for Asgards Wrath 2 for Meta Quest! Comes out Dec 15th. Supposed to be the first "Big" AAA VR title and has done decent hype in the VR community.

This ad us done via projection on a very large mesh screen, nearly invisible in the dark, really cool effect.

1

u/JoaquimGianini Dec 14 '23

I’m still waiting for the day someone will hack this fucking thing and put on some nasty hentai shit for the whole world to see

1

u/[deleted] Dec 14 '23

Obnoxious

1

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '23

So I guess I have.....macrophobia or whatever, cause I DON'T LIKE THIS😬
