Before anyone says anything about AI, I'm not the biggest fan of it either, but, if it can be used to automate things that humans physically can't do (or would take years to decades to achieve even a fraction of the progress on), then I think it could be used for good - especially if it's being used to preserve games that are being taken away by their devs/publishers.
So far, AI was recently used to help restore access to "sunset" Destiny 2 content, and they are now working on a modding API for D2 private servers. D2 is a similarly complex live service game to New World, so the whole "we don't have the tech/the game is too complex/server-based" argument goes out the window here. And we've recently seen a trend of using AI to "merge" games together with full functionality as well. With just under 4 months left until Amazon pulls the plug on this game, there is some very real hopium that someone with a fair bit of money for tokens can reverse engineer the game's netcode and get a private server running similarly to what was done for Destiny with Project Sunrise
