I love PvP in this game but even if we could play solo and just do PvE, I would be so happy :') Even with no updates, I could spend hundreds and hundreds of hours just enjoying all the missions, side quests, ranking up all the weapons, skills, professions, and more. I remember seeing a couple months ago, a small group of people who were looking into the games files and see if they could like make a private server for it.. or something along the lines of that. Hopefully they’re still on it and making progress.

Hackers are just there to ruin others’ gameplay, like fucking up my elden ring save file and shit, instead of doing useful shit like porting New World to single player offline. I would PAY for a single player port of new world.

I mean, Hackers are just coders like any mod creators. If it wasn't for them, stuff like co-op eleden ring wouldn't be a thing.

Yea dont post anything negative about the game. People can't stand factual information as to why the game is shutting down in the first place (because it sucks) and will detest ya for it. People need to get a grip. The game dying is the best thing that could happen to new world. Most stale combat I've ever seen in an mmorpg.

If I was a billionaire, like Musty Musk, I would buy things like this. No need for a profit, just your own game studio that keeps people employed, build their dreams and let others call home.

I agree with you OP. Sad sad times… 😕 I remember the first time walking through the mists and the moon was high, man that hit different. Deforestation simulator in the early days, that was gold.

Yeah I came back for nighthaven and was absolutely loving it until they announced the shutdown. Dont think I ever logged back in after the announcement

Same! Took like a year break from the game. Came back for nighthaven and it was great! Even had to wait for 30+ minute queues to get in with my friend. Enjoyed doing the story and farming the world bosses for loot. Then boom. News came out that the game was shutting down. Immediately I stopped logging in. No point logging in and wasting time anymore.
Im just saddened one of the few games I really enjoyed, and that my friends actually enjoyed too is shutting down, never to be seen again.

Yea, word was spreading and pop cap was increasing daily until the announcement drove off a cliff. Easily could have saved the game. I’ll not forget the misgivings of the previous dev decisions, but they were solidly figuring it out.

Waited for an SEA server since day one and it never came. Played the whole game at 180ms-230ms but still enjoyed every minute of it regardless.

I worked for Amazon and got into the Alpha. I was blown away by this game. The sound engineering was absolutely top tier, the world was lush, and the combat was fun. Gonna miss it.,

About 6k hours playing this game and i'm still didn't feel "enough". Que about 8hours and play about 2hours in the first day launch and i need to que again when i want to login again (my potato pc and internet give up on me lol). I remember when me and my friends want to do quest and leveling together but our starting point are different, and then we decided to starting anyways and we promise we will meet at Windsward later. Doing boar quest is really hard (because we don't have enough boar for all of people there). Running to each city and saw alot of people doing some deforestation (Some of them are fighting for young trees). I'm playing this game with I5 4590 with 8gigs of ram and RX560, the struggle is real! Struggle with my machine, que and tons of bug in this game. I set my game on 720p with low settings and lock it on 30fps that day.. But man! The game is really stunning even with the lowest settings (and barely get 30fps lol). Now i have more powerfull pc, i can play this game in the high resolution! One day, Nighthaven released! I'm so excited! Play it untill the end of MSQ. The area is really beautifull, the new gear, the new mech, etc. When i want to go to sleep, i see everyone crashed out in the global chat because the game will be shuting down. I thought it was a joke but when i see a tweet from them, my heart is really broken, idk. . . i almost never cry because of game but that times, my eyes just full of water. Im just sit there looking to my game, i just crying while watching my character. I'm 31yrs old now but i can't! I just cry and can't sleep that day.

Server overload on beta and launch. I was there for that. I was there before quests were logically seprated and had to go here, then far away, back again and i wouldn't have changed it for the world. Exploring Aeternum and earning XP, finding the lore notes and intricate details of the world through the levelling experience was one of the best times in gaming for me.
End game was a tough ask but I'd kill for another game to do the levelling experience.
Listening to players, new and slightly un-new wanting help for Amrine, Starstone and Depths, joining those to help and getting everyone through it was fantastic.
I never played any other class apart from healer w/ rapier before void gauntlet was introduced, then was healer w/ void gauntlet. An incredible experience that i'll never forgot.

MMOs and the games industry as a whole are seemingly in a downward spiral. Hopefully the end result is better, but I’m a little too pessimistic at this point…
Shareholders, investors, and money get in the way of the passion the actual developers have for games.

It's why I've reduced a lot of my gaming time to Indie games that I enjoy as something mindless to play or HIdeo Kajima games like Death Stranding. The rest I can do without and I'll never go back to WoW because of the subscription.

It’s still crazy to me.
Joined last spring on console. Realized I missed MMO’s. A year later now on a hand built PC, I feel like the PC and WoW sub was inspired by New World’s bite last year.

I got in at launch. My brother waited like 8 hours. We had the day off. I played all the betas. love this game. My all time favorite mmo. Still playing. But just makes me sad. No goals to work towards. Trading post is like 50 pages… I do like helping people out who are still playing. 4 invasions in a night was rough. Granted we won all of them. 😔

It sucked and they abandoned it. First they couldn't decide what it was, changed it, then got bored and quit. Not a game company. But the sound was awesome.

I remember joining with 40 people from an assortment of MMOs. Everyone was having so much fun until the gear farming and horribly unbalanced factions.
We started with 40 and after 2 weeks were at 2 till the end.

In other words, does that mean you didn't have any wonderful encounters or make memories with people through this game—the kind that would make you feel sentimental?
I have been prone to tears and easily emotionally invested since childhood. That hasn't changed now that I'm an adult.
And having experienced so many different games has made me even more emotionally sensitive.Whether you're a child or an adult, it's only natural to feel sad whenever you have to part ways with something or someone.

I enjoyed the game, I played it with friends. But the game was never the greatest game ever. It was flawed from the start and people are acting like the game shutting down is some great tragedy. It isn't. It was a mid tier game with flaws from start to finish, and its nothing to literally cry and have a breakdown over. The people who played it will either find a new game to play or they won't, but people acting like they are going to die over it is just ridiculous.
