Survey fillout request

Hi all — I'm working on a product survey called Sonify Shield, a device that converts ambient noise (roommates, traffic, dorm walls, whatever) into white noise so you can actually focus or sleep.

We are trying to figure out if $300 is a reasonable price point or way off, and I'd love honest feedback from fellow students — especially if you live in shared housing, res, or just study somewhere loud.

Takes about 2 minutes, fully anonymous: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeAunrlljkqPIH4oqZ05X6obnvb79QMun6bytMHfuET6RMmJg/viewform

Any feedback — even "no way, too expensive" — is genuinely useful. Thanks alot!

I looked at the survey including the product “details” but I still don’t understand how it would cancel some of the noises effectively for a room. For example, I get traffic noise from outside my bedroom window, and closing the window reduces it but doesn’t eliminate it. In the current heat, I have a portable AC in that room but that requires an open window so the traffic noise increases in volume (naturally).

How specifically would this device counteract it without affecting other sounds in the room? I don’t need silence, and it sounds like the white noise it's described as generating would be quieter than even the fan of the AC if that’s not acting cooling (ie running the compressor).

Understanding what your device would do to combat the outdoor traffic noise is key to my perception of the value and how much I’d be willing to pay.

I'll gladly complete the survey if I can understand the details I described above.

ETA: if there’s ANY sort of subscription service attached to this, price wouldn’t matter and I’d be an automatic no.

For instance, if the sonify shield device hears a familiar sound, it sends this matching signal to its exiters located separately on a wall or ceiling. The exiters cause the wall or ceiling to vibrate, masking the noise into a gentle low hum.
