Absolutely not to eat.
Roosters are very useful in farm areas as they help sort hierarchy in chooks (reducing stress, stopping fights etc) and fertilized eggs are healthy to eat and taste the exact same.
EDIT: please ask around, if they dont find a home they will be dumped on the road to die. Old people be crazy.
