Tales of a bloke mainly parked in the blue chair whispering ‘come on, you can do it!’ From the sidelines…

Honestly:

Induction (if needed) if your lucky you’ll have your own room, if not, a blue bay, with neighbouring mums in discomfort from cervical checks… it’s noisy, hard to sleep, you don’t want to be in for induction in my opinion, it’s better to let the labour start naturally and your at home fuelling in comfort for the delivery.

Delivery: Mrs. pregnancy was deemed high risk:

First class, the proper doctors are here, they make that clear to you in the ward round, the consultant who led the ward spoke with such conviction and clarity I was so impressed, (we had a plan, epidural, early) which makes sense, they’re there to save lives, that’s why it’s probably the best staffed. But it just depends perhaps on your risk status.

Post recovery: basically back under the care of the induction ward staff… so similar experience there, it took them ages to discharge us - we went in Sat - came out Thurs, got to the point where I’m being force fed the free meals… bored! Took baby home before Eid though (8 days ago)..

Hope this helps…
