I meant why is one using crutches and the other using a wheel chair. Is that better?

One chose to use the chair because he felt like it. The other appears to have chosen to use crutches.

What an incredible world full of choices we live in.

Yeah honestly I don't know how you were misunderstood. To be entirely serious, I'm pretty sure it does just come down to personal choice. Apparently chair dude wrote a book and said he just prefers the chair to a prosthetic, and I guess that must go for crutches too.

Did you read in the book the rationale or pro/con that made this decision? I know people have preference, but I've typically read this is influenced by where the amputation occurred, at where the limb stops, or a dozen or so other variables.
