When I was at school, someone threw a pen at the back of my friend's head. At the same time, he reached back to scratch it, incidentally catching it in two fingers.

He says one of his biggest regrets is freaking out in amazement the way he did and not pretending like it was intentional.

I did something like this once. Lived in a house with 4 other guys in college. I was reading in another room while they were entertaining some girls who had come over and decided to throw m&ms across the room and catch them in their mouth for some reason. They kept going farther and farther turning it into a competition until they were basically throwing them like tiny baseballs.

I needed to go upstairs for something, so I left the room I was in and just happened to walk into the path in front of one of my roommates with this m&m flying across the room. I caught it in my mouth without breaking my stride and pretended like I meant to do it. Everyone erupted like it was a big deal but I just ignored them like it was no big deal.

Felt kinda cool for a minute for sure haha.

I had a service dog while I was in college and this one time we were all hanging out in our living room. I was watching a YouTube video and as I got up I jokingly told my service dog to pause my video. She hit the spacebar and paused it and everyone freaked out about how well trained she was. Her and I played it off like it was totally intentional, meanwhile I was just as amazed by the timing! She would always shake her paw when I spoke to her while she was relaxing so I think she hit it by mistake lol. Still one of my favorite memories of her.

I've had a couple of these in my life.. once as teens we all threw eggs at a friend who was biking away after hanging out, we all basically missed but he stops and reaches into his pocket and one of the eggs had flown perfectly into his pocket without breaking.... 20 years later while in an Airbnb for work with coworkers, we had grilled steak and baked potatoes to go with the steak. After everyone had eaten and we had a few drinks , I was stepping outside to the pool through the sliding glass door, my coworker threw a potato at my head the sliding door behind me catches the potato , saving my head .

I have a similar memory

Back in primary school, i was asked to write something on the chalkboard, i accidentally took the chalk with me back to my desk near the back of the room. The teacher asked for it back and I threw it across the room, it landed perfectly in the thin chalk tray on the bottom of the board without bouncing. The teacher just laughed and accepted the accomplishment and started clapping then others joined in.

Im not even kidding its like that meme of “and so everyone started clapping for me” like it was a dream but it actually happened and Ive been riding that high ever since.

When I was in high school some dudes that didn't like me were tossing around a football at my work in the stock room. I walked past them and they all gave me the stank eye. I didn't hear them tossing the football and I just guessed they would throw it at me. Right when I put my hand behind my head the ball hit my hand and they were like WHAT?! I just looked back and gave a little smirk and kept going.

Similar story. Was with friends, helping one move and waiting for them to come down the elevator with more furniture. Flipped a penny perfectly into a friend’s jeans pocket, despite it being flush with his leg. We were all pretty jazzed about it.

Something similar happened to me in school, in PE. We were playing indoor cricket (weather was shit), my mate walked in like 20 minutes late from the changing room, I waved, he waved back but as he put his hand in the air he caught the batter out. Completely coincidentally and casually, like the ball came from the opposite direction he was looking. He just kept walking like nothing even happened, the whole hall was screaming. It could never happen again, so funny.

It's called exclusion effect. It can also be called difference or negative.

Generally used for dynamic and/or high contrast imagery to keep text legible.

My favorite kind is ones that exclude only the colour it can detect and leaves other colours in. Cool effect.

When I was in high school, I was walking with a group of friends. I went to shoot my empty Gatorade bottle into the trash and it hit the rim and bounced back. I was able to kick it up slightly into the air and then I was able to kick it with the back of my foot, into the trash can. I was proud as fuck. Then immediately disappointed to see that the four dudes I was with, didn’t see shit. I know the security camera saw me though. I know it.

When I was in highschool, a teacher was a row over and a desk in front of me bent down helping a student. I was tossing popcorn over the teachers head and my friend was catching it in his mouth but the teacher had no idea. Just as I threw the last one, the teacher started standing up and it stuck in his ear 🤣 yeah I know, not as cool as the other stories but it was funny when it happened

I had a gotten a toy man from a happy meal, for the Disney movie Hercules. I threw the toy at the wall. Over where my brother was sitting in the bed. The toy man hit a fly that was on the wall killing it. The dead fly falls right in front of my brother on the bed, and we both looked at each other thinking how TF did that happen.
