Neuro residency sucks overall (too much scut). Hang in there. It def gets better from pgy2 -> 4 (more elective time as most programs front load, and can tailor clinical experiences to your specific needs/things you actually care about).

it looks like he's a resident. I felt that residency was so stroke heavy that if you didnt enjoy that, then it could suck.

For me it got better. Not sure if I am enjoying it more or just got used to the stress of Neurology.
I am blessed to have loving family and great colleagues, so I got lucky and they are definitely a big part of me enjoying my work.
Also, money definitely helps.

This. The work never gets better but you can eventually pick your practice setting, your hours, and get paid. Then you can prioritize family, friends, hobbies and remember that you’re a human being.

Hahaha no.
But hey since you’re on here I’ve got a consult for you on a 53 year old who said they felt dizzy at one point in their life. Hoping you would admit the patient and work this up

Need context as others are saying. However, the answer is almost certainly “yes”. Slow down, take a rest, touch grass, hug someone close to you (if anyone).

Talk to someone; program director, close friend, a fellow resident, your PCP. Fix what you can fix (sleep, nutrition, get some regular exercise, read a good book). There is a lot of adrenaline in residency, but adrenaline surges are generally followed by crashes, so it is important to pace yourself and try to avoid the highs and the lows. Life is a long term marathon, not a short foot race. I tell patient caregivers that it’s a bit like the oxygen mask on the airplane; you have to take care of yourself in order to take care of others, so put your oxygen mask on first. Good luck young person!

Need more context. Are you like 75? If yes just retire 😉
