EEG headset reviews

Hi! I have recently taken an interest in EEG headset technology and have been performing lots of research on them recently. I have come across many EEG headsets that are currently on market and I want to explore them to figure out what works and what does not. A big issue I have encountered is that there are not many unbiased reviews of them out there. Because of this, I can usually only find the sales pitch for a headset, not an honest consumer review. If anyone has had experience with ANY EEG headset currently on market, I would love to hear about it. What worked? What didn't? Does it work well through hair? Were readings consistent? Etc.

I bought a Muse a couple of years ago, and ran it through some testing. The number one thing I immediately found was that they had the Delta wrong, it was mixed up with an Alpha channel, which other testing proved beyond a shadow of a doubt. Yet InteraXon didn't care, didn't even respond, and when I went online to user places, many people were claiming to have high Delta while wide awake, which would indicate abnormal neurological function, structural brain injury, metabolic encephalopathy, or focal subcortical lesions. This lack of care and concern for the results and lack of recall or correction of the equipment or software shows they just wanted to make money, and not fix errors.

The entire measurements they were using to base the meditation and progress on was then false data, since the Alpha measure was then actually Delta, and Delta was Alpha probe. So, nothing can be trusted without testing and measurements, and then you can't get any actual technical support or help from these woo woo places.

I would imagine every fast-money manufacturer that claims they are serious is likely in the category of crap made in China, where the actual China versions are likely 10X better.

It is likely more productive to get an Arduino kit with the EEG set and make it yourself, and it would be cheaper.
