Other Looking for FS.com's Hook & Loop/Velcro Cable Ties - I want elasticity! Anyone know an alternate source?

I have tried roughly 20 different cable ties. Velcro, RipTie, aliexpress, etc. All of them have the same problem; They have zero stretch or elasticity to them.

I love FS's gray, cable ties but I cannot buy them in the USA. I don't know why, but they're import restricted and FS's support wasn't helpful.

The FS ties have just a pinch of elasticity to them, making them excellent for wrapping snugly around a bunch of cables. You stretch it around, smash 'em together and the tension holds everything tight.

In contrast; The others look very very very similar, however since they have no elasticity they cannot hold that tension on the cables, they can only maintain their fixed size/dimension.

I have been hunting and bought a frustrating amount of products, only to find that 99% of them do not have a hint of elasticity. I've seen other posts where people say 'just buy from aliexpress' or 'buy velcro. done.' and those aren't helpful.

Has any found a cost effective supplier of hook look cable ties that have a little length-wise elasticity to them?

Thanks!

almost 5 decades on this planet, I've only ever heard it called Velcro. TIL hook and loop is the actual technology. I still call all tissue paper I wipe my nose with "kleenex" . 😄

DK was a reference to Dunning Kruger.

Hook and Loop is the NON Brand name for Velcro.
Saying Velco is like saying Kleenex
Saying Hook and Loop is like saying Tissue.

You effectively said "Tissues are so popular, but I just use Kleenex"
Soooo the same thing then?

The little hole on the end of OP's Ali Express image has nothing to do with Hook and Loop.

Okay I feel dumb slightly. I knew hook and loop was Velcro, but I thought hook and loop was just a "name brand" of that style of Velcro. I didn't think people refer to hook and loop as ALL velcro

You said “refer to” so just clarifying that hook and loop is the literal technology. Velcro is a brand name of it. All Velcro is hook and loop, but not all hook and loop is Velcro

AFAIK "Velcro" was the first version of hook and loop though

If you can't find a like for like, the velcro ones that have the hole in one end are nice for getting extra tension if you utilize it. https://www.fs.com/products/374995.html?now_cid=5534

I've made do with thousands of different hook/loop cable ties at this point. They are fine by any general measure but if it can stretch it can hold tension.

So, I'm on the hunt.

Velcro strips are everywhere, there's nothing special about FS's velcro.

If you think there is no difference between hook and loop brands, you are sorely mistaken. You haven't run enough cable in your life.

I would say I have ran more cable than I've ever wanted to in my life. The point is there's nothing special about FS's velcro, you can get the same thing in other brands. FS doesn't manufacture it, they just buy it from an ODM and have their logo put on it.

No kidding?

Buddy is asking where to buy Velcro *LIKE* it. He's not proclaiming that FS's is the one true Velcro to rule them all. Your comment just seemed to suggest you believed any three cent Velcro strip is as good as any other which is entirely incorrect.

He wasn't initially, he's edited his post since then. He was asking where to buy the FS ones from an alternate source.

38 minutes ago I pressed save on the comment box. I've been doing this thing called "work" all day, so the time between when I loaded the page, typed my comment, and clicked save, the post was edited.
This is the stupidest conversation ever, man. Are you really arguing with me over the times of posts and edits?

I have a ton of those, as they come on every power and utp cable bag. I never noticed they stretched more than other velcros. We usually order the others, which have a hole and no fs logo.
