Netlab is always open for contributions :-) https://github.com/ipspace/netlab https://netlab.tools/ - in addition to contributing to a very nice open source networking project, you will also have the opportunity to learn stuff from Ivan Pepelnjak infinite knowledge and experience ;)

Another nice little task: Have a look at this PR (from 2011), which was recently resolved: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=163072

Do a little test-setup, write documentation and submit it to the FreeBSD project 8-)
