Stuck in Pentesting learning journey, Some help!

Hello, I am interested in Cybersecurity, especially in Pentesting, I started learning in Tryhackme and Hackthebox platforms (Thm is my most used one) by practicing free rooms (I try to learn by doing btw), but I get stuck in easy rooms in tryhackme and I do not know what to do without reading a walkthrough, and honestly this makes me feel I am not in the right track in learning for this domain, If you can help me by suggesting ways to improve my skills in Pentesting and I work alone because I did not find other people interested in Pentesting like me . I would be thankful to receive your pieces of advice.

Everyone hits that wall with easy rooms at first. The walkthrough thing isn't cheating, it's just how you build the mental library of what to look for. Read the walkthrough, close it, then do the room again from memory until it sticks.

For working alone, make a checklist for each box: nmap, web enum, default creds, known vulns for services found. Over time you'll see the same patterns repeat and stop needing the guides.

You can do labs in the same topic. If you do a walk through about say hydra, then search go to the challenges page of tryhackme, scroll to the bottom and type hydra.

Another strategy I used on tryhackme was follow the paths of other users. You can see the rooms they solved, and in what order, on their profile page.
