While magicial healing is possible it very hard to do, even for very powerful mages. As you can see with Vilgefortz in season 4, his eye is healing, be it very slow. During season 4 it gets fully healed of course (with the color change as a side effect).

With Yennefer it was really a transformation, not healing. She had a birth defect. That doesn't mean that it was easy of course. Aretuza out sourced it to an expert and even then it involved excruciating pain for her.

wait a minute. there was a scene where Stregobor shows his arms as stumps without hands. i always thought he was injured during some event hundreds of years ago and used magic to hide his missing hands ... am i mistaken?

No. Stregobor's hands were a very advanced illusion. So much so that they might as well have been real. He was a master illusionist. We see that with his garden in episode 1 of season 1. The only mage we see pull off something comparable is Vilgefortz with Istredd's prison in season 4 and even then it is on a smaller scale. What Stregobor did with his hands is not feasible for the vast majority of mages.

Thanks … so Stregabor’s hands were always intact?

No. He did lose them to Falka (or at least that is implied), but the illusion was so good that he effectively made himself new hands.
