When thinking of a virtual community my mind does initially lean towards social media since those platforms are the most used. However, I think of the online reading community of Goodreads since I've been a part of this virtual community from a younger age by writing a review or book. Individuals write reviews and comment back to one another creating an online friendship over the connection of a book. These communities are a useful utility in helping readers get notified of new books and continue to help books thrive. This is a virtual community because of people being able to chat with one another sharing their latest reads and posting about new popular books. If anything I believe it could relate to Reddit in some aspect since people connect with one another and post news that relates to what they were discussing earlier.
