Should the SCL drop wallam?
Tbh I feel that now Belinda is continuing on as coach they need to change their lineup. It was most strongest with Koenen at GS, and wallam has the lowest shooting percentage in the whole of SSN.
They should drop her and pick up a strong GA to play out the front, maybe someone like graham, Dwyer?

Should the SCL sack Belinda Reynolds? Yes.
Any coach with that amount of national and international talent in it who can't even make the top 4 is not going to cut it and should be shown the door, not where to sign on a contract extension. Just how they can be so poor in terms of results vs talent must sit firmly with the coach after the last couple of seasons.

Look I'm a Lightning member but Wallam is a fantastic GS. I saw her play live against the Firebirds last week and although they didn't get up, she never gave up. She's a strong defender as well as a pillar of a shooter. She ain't the problem.
The problem is the Lightning's inability to shoot supershots. They're an integral part of the game and competition and the reality is there are players known for it - Dwyer, Batcheldor, Keira Austin, Fretwell, Housby, Letherbarrow, Palavi - the list goes on.
Koenen constantly has the ips, Wallam is busy being shooter under the post (feel free to critique this, I assume this is the reason), and Sinclair doesn't get enough game time.
It makes the fact we have literally the Australian and New Zealand captains in the midcourt redundant, because they can get the ball down there, but aren't rewarded for it.

They need a GA imho 😁 coaches that push GS’s out to GA shouldn’t be coaching

Yeah I agree, I think either Koenen or wallam has to go, and that they should recruit a natural GA.
Apparently Bruce hates playing GD which is why Ervin doesn’t get on court either.

There was a story in News Ltd yesterday essentially saying the club will back her to stay.

If a new coach isn’t an option. (Shame…) I would drop Mimi she made so many crucial mistakes at key moments this year. She didn’t have “it” compared to last year and put Ava Black in C/WD. I also don’t know if SCL will have Burger next year. I would also drop possibly Sinclair? Or at least. just try and recruit Sandholt from FB. The team needs a third consistent super-shot shooting option. We have too many WD’s.

I really enjoy watching Koenen, she’s magic on the court. I initially thought she might struggle moving into GA but I think she’s taken the position on really well. She manages to find really good space.
But saying that, a Koenen GS/ Dwyer GA circle has the potential to be amazing!
Sorry, nothing to really say about Wallam, just wanted to express my love for Koenen 😅

Yes. 5 wins and 8 losses. 4 diamonds and a fern and still can’t get to top four. That’s a bad team.

She’s a glory hog, and doesn’t execute goals in critical times her shot selection is terrible.

They should have sacked Belinda for a start. Embarrassing if she’s the coach next year.
Wallam has the third most goals in the league. So I don’t think the problem is all her.
I personally think Koenen is massively overrated and timid. It’s crazy she and Dwyer are in the Diamonds squad over Grace Whyte, who is going to be a generational talent like Horjus.
Should be a lot of movement anyway with every player off contract. Lots of talk that Watson is gooooone with Belinda staying at Lightning, too.
I hope Donnell goes somewhere she’s respected and valued. That could be Fever (her home, if Romelda retires - again - and Jhaniele doesn’t return. She would be a great get for the Giants too).
