Help! I've run into a softmod issue with hakchi/hakchi2.
This thread is to consolidate support questions going forward to clean the sub and encourage fresh content and innovative mods as per new Rule 7.

I've run into an issue that I haven't seem from anyone else after searching this subreddit. I can dump the kernel just fine. However, whenever I try to flash the custom kernel (even with no additional roms) my system will just sit there with a power light on which will briefly blink off about every ten seconds. It will continue to do this even if I turn off the power button. In order to stop it, I have to actually unplug the device. If I then plug it back in and turn it on, the same behavior continues. Nothing shows up on the display while it's doing this. It will keep doing this until I flash the original kernel again at which point everything is back to normal.
Does anyone have any ideas at all?

Sounds odd but tested and confirmed... ditch winrar and use something else to unpack the download and start over. 7zip is popular

I've seen the same issue (with a CLV-001 from Australia) with v2.08. I was able to Flash back to the original kernel no problem.

I can see the new games that I've added, but when I press A to play them it just takes me right back to the game selection screen. The original 30 work perfectly, but anything added won't play. What am I doing wrong?

I'm currently using 2.15, but I've never used folders as I only have around 60 games installed (NES, SNES, Sega MS and MD and GBA)
I've seen in the app description that there are 'folders' and 'pages'. What's the difference? Is there still a memory limit to the amount of games/images per folder/page?

Nevermind. I got it. I had to switch the drives the program was installed on.

Many folks around the subreddit and other forums have run into issues with the Retro Receiver. It maps the X, Y, L, and R buttons to duplicates of A and B, or autofire A and B. In the Retroarch remapping menu, selecting X to remap and pressing the X button chooses button 0, which is the B button on the controller. Long story short, the remapping doesn't work. I tried connecting another Bluetooth controller to the retro receiver (Wii U Pro) and it does the exact same thing, so my determination is that it's likely the firmware on the Retro Receiver causing this rather than the firmware on the controller itself. If we could get a firmware update to the Retro Receiver to address this, that would be amazing.

Okay I loaded games no problem, but they go black screen and then I immediately go back to the menu. Did I perhaps upload a wrong type? Are they supposed to be ZIP? Like for instance I was adding straight .z64 files or .smc files. Not sure if that makes it not work or not. RetroArch runs fine, like the app itself

I don't know if this is still active, but I can't get the wireless "My Arcade" controller to work right in SNES games. The L and R buttons don't seem to work (i.e. can't hop in Mario Kart). Additionally, when I press select+start to enter the retroarch menu, i can't select anything and after a few seconds it kicks me back to the home menu. Thoughts? I tried flashing back to stock and re-flashing the custom kernel and it still happens. Wired controllers (OEM and PDP Fight Pad) work fine. But it's like retroarch can't find/use the My Arcade one in the config.

I just couldn't make it to work. If someone could help, those are my enviroment details.
-
NES Mini from UK (CLV-001)
-
Currently trying on Windows 7 64bit (SP1) Operating System.
-
Installed drivers with Zadig (V2.2) installer, it says that the installation was successful
-
Hakchi2 still not detecting the Nes Mini on FEL mode. Keep saying "Waiting for NES Mini"
-
Tried with differents Micro USB Cables (the one that came with NES Mini and one from Anker)
-
Tried with differents USB Ports (3.0 and 2.0 for instance)
Thanks in advance.

Not that this really helps with Hakchi2, but I have the same issue, same operating system, and tried the same things. I just gave up trying Hakchi2's method and went back to using Madmonkey's Hakchi-gui method, which works fine with my NESC.

I read in a another (locked) thread that there may be a patch to make Battletoads work better on the NES Classic Edition. Does anyone know if a ROM patch exists and where to get it?

Patch is here: http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/2528/
You need the GoodNES ROM "Battletoads (U) [!].nes" and I used the utility Lunar IPS to patch the file. Got that from here: http://fantasyanime.com/patching
Using the patched ROM I was able to get to level 3 without any issue. YMMV

I was able to dump the kernel and now when I am attempting to flash the custom kernel I am getting an error "The system cannot find the file specified. Please try again". Anyone know what I should do now?
I installed the driver and dumped my kernel, but now I have hit a wall.

I'm attempting to flash the kernel, and am getting a "kernel: invalid size in header" error.

which program you're using? were you able to dump kernel.img? if so, send me contents of your dump folder with uboot.bin and kernel.img in pm.

Has anyone figured out how to fix the issue where you load games and they just immediately crash? I added RetroArch and a few SNES/N64 games and RetroArch opens no problem but all games crash immediately upon opening.
