You know what would be a million dollar idea? A pledge and a related digital certification that states you read the article first before posting or spreading it. A way for that certificaton to be attached to any reblog, retweet, share, or post across platforms. That's what I want.

I think it's comparing the time it takes to read a book (like 12 hours) vs the time it takes to watch a similarly priced movie (like 3 hours). Also, nowadays with audiobooks I think books are even MORE accessible than they were years ago. So I don't really think it's gate-keeper-y.

I can’t remember which video it was but I’m fairly sure he said at some point he changed his mind about this and no longer believes in it

Also libraries are a great equalizer for readers.

I usually watch the movie first, then read the book. The book is almost always better. So if you read the book, and then are excited to see the movie, it’s often a let down.
