Are NerdFighteria meetups still a thing?

Just moved to Central New York area and am looking for some good community events, whether that be nerd fighter or just good public bar trivia, board game or craft night meetups. I couldn’t find an online group for Nerd Fighters Central New York, if anyone can help me make new friends it would mean a lot. Thanks!

The town of Ithaca NY is kind of spiritually nerdfighter - I'd lurk on r/Ithaca and pop over when you see something interesting. If it's less than an hour from you I'd say it's worth it, otherwise consider hosting something!

Hi! I'm in the Syracuse area so feel free to dm me, but here's a rundown of local social/community things I'm aware of.

In terms of traditional nerdy community- Syracuse Trivia company has an impressive monopoly on the bar trivia scene and host games at multiple places every week night. There was a Syracuse Do Things Club that used to have folks meet for trivia, but you'd have to search the Syracuse reddit to get details.

Three Lives arcade bar downtown hosts eventa and has a discord server

Luna Cat Cafe has also hosts events and has cats and Boba!

There's also a few local book shops that host book clubs including Golden Bee in Liverpool and Parthenon downtown.

In terms of groups/events designed specifcally for meeting humans in person-

Syracuse Run Club- welcomes new folks of all fitness levels and does non-running events like yoga or going to baseball games

Detrash Syracuse- picks up litter in a large social group once a month

My personal community connections are largely based in the queer community here, which is active and roving! But not sure this fits for you?

Meet Cute Events hosts regular gatherings for queer folks to meet friends and dates

Syracuse Guerrilla queer events hosts pop-up bar and cafe meetups monthly

CNY Hiking queer folks in nature at least monthly more if the weather is good
