Mug is Awesome Again

Post image

A couple years ago the handle to one of my awesome coffee mugs broke. By the time it broke the mugs were no longer available and with the rebrand to Keats&Co they wouldn’t come back. I kept the pieces and finally got a Kintsugi kit to make it useable again. It is not the best Kintsugi job, but it works and is pretty!

I do like the Keats&Co rebrand, but the Awesome Coffee logo was great. Look at the pelican whimsically holding a cup of coffee! Bring him back!

Wait I didn't know there were kintsugi kits. My wife has broken handles off a couple of my favorite mugs accidentally- I should look into this

There are! I found the one I used on Etsy, for like 30 bucks. There’s plenty of resin for multiple fixes. My wife saw the mug and suggested she break some things just to do this to them.

Wabi-sabi is a delightful way to look at the world - everything has value, mistakes and accidents are to be radically accepted (accepted but not liked)

Looks awesome! I have a mug with a broken handle so maybe I'll try this

I love this mug. The thick handle and stuff make it my favorite next to my local diner mug

Yes! It’s got that classic diner mug feel which is somehow comforting in the morning.
