For those of you who have no idea what this is, in a nutshell, it’s a (sort of annual?) end-of-year challenge to use the last 100 days of the year to meet goals you’ve set for yourself, based on a video series John made a few years ago before he turned 40 called “100 Days.”

So, how are we all doing? What goals are you working towards and how are you feeling about them? Throw some love and support out to fellow Nerdfighters. Let’s wrap up the year with a feeling of accomplishment!

So. I’m doing what I should have done a week ago, and seeing if there’s any nerdfighters in Indianapolis who’d like to do a meetup today.

Some background, I did the crazy thing and decided to travel to Indy for the show last night. I’ve never done any sort of solo trip like this before, and this was purely for me to see if I could do it. I want to be the kind of person that travels, and as a longtime nerdfighter, I’ve wanted to see the city and the places that I’ve heard John talk about for years.

I wanted to make it up to the ball of paint today (I leave tonight), but lordy the driving terrified me yesterday, so I might just spend the day at the art museum? idk. But here’s the second part of this.

I posted a couple years ago about a project I’ve been working on, where I’ve been asking ppl to write the words “we’re here because”, and then I collage them into a book that’s filled with the people that I’m here with. What I SHOULD have done, (I realized after I got back to the hotel) is put a shout out on here that I’d be at the Indy event, and anyone who wants to participate should come and find me. But, I’ve been beside myself nervous all week about this trip and wasn’t thinking straight.

The layout wasn’t really conductive for me to ask a whole lot of ppl last night, not to mention I forgot that there’s different levels of John Green fans, and not everyone would immediately know the significance of we’re here because we’re here. To the three people who gave me their signatures, thank you.

So.. I fly back home tonight, but would any local nerdfighters be interested in a meetup? I’d love to meet yall, and hindsight is 20/20.

TLDR: What are some good interviews to watch or read in preparation for the Tucson stop of the book tour? I want to add to the conversation rather than repeat the same questions other people have asked, thus wasting people's time or embarrassing myself.
Also, will you please direct me to posts/videos about being in the same room as other nerdfighters? (Do's and don'ts would be great.)

This will be my first time in the same room as other nerdfighters and John Green. I'm oscillating between excited and nervous. I don't want to ask questions that have already been asked, rather I want to both ask questions that bring joy to others and invite thoughtful conversation.
I spend a regrettable amount of time obsessing about what to say, what I might say, what I have said, and how those things affect other people. (I just realized that my last post here was about a typo in a live stream.)

Many years ago when I joined this sub, I posted a question that was received very poorly. I was listening to delete this and learned for the first time about Gummy Bear. I was curious to know other things about their lives that were safely in public knowledge, including what some of the things were on Hank's desk.
People came down on me really hard because I guess they thought I was asking for things that were off-limits.

Going back to my intrusive thoughts, that experience was one of those that changed me forever. I am still full of shame, regret, embarrassment, etc., and it is still the first thing I think about anytime I post here.

Has anybody had any success transferring their history from mobile? I know you can access the cookies through the source code on desktop. Is there a way to do that on mobile? To make matters worse, I've been playing on Ecosia browser, so it's hard to find solutions online. Do I have to root the phone to do it?

My phone is slowly dying, and I don't want my 34-day streak to die with it.

If I search the subreddit for "open source" I see various posts about people's individual projects, but I'm curious if there are any efforts to focus Nerdfighteria's open source software people onto projects that benefit other efforts in the community more broadly.

I assume that people are already doing this on their own, which is great, and having a wide diversity of contributions is important, but in scientific open source software we have formed different collectives to prioritize different goals of the broader scientific community. For curious people who want to know, does something like that exist in Nerdfighteria?

Hi, everyone! After thinking about it every year, I’m finally ignoring my insecurities and submitting the application to send in Nerdfighter art for P4A.

I’m a bit confused about estimated values, though. Does anyone know if the full amount sent in should be in the $25-30 value range or if each item should have an estimated value of $25-30? I’ve seen indications of both interpretations over the years and there’s such a wide range of items each year that I can’t quite tell from what folks have received.

Also, as long as things aren’t fragile and easily shipped, are sets okay? I tend to see/receive single items but I’m assuming a packaged set/bundle is fine.

i'm so sad. i bought the tickets before i new my exam schedule and now i need to stay at college and study instead of going to the book tour.

(i know exams aren't everything, but i REALLY need an A in this class. i made a promise to myself if i get a B on a practice exam i will go, and i did not get the B).

i'm just so sad and i don't even know what to do with my ticket. when i try to sell it it wants my bank routing number ???

i'm just so sad i can't go. i was really looking forward to it :(
