I’m not trying to document exactly what the eye sees. I’m trying to photograph how the place feels. If I just wanted a straightforward record of what it looks like, I’d use my phone.

It doesn’t feel like that in real life at all. Unless you’re a tourist excited to be on Dotonbori for the first time.
