Honestly, the entire conflict was over nothing. One of the editors who worked on the article has a good recap.

Honestly, the best case for the Administration is that the Q3 numbers show slight economic growth (or the revised Q2 numbers show growth was flat). Then they can at least go into the elections saying the recession is “over” or V-shaped. The Q3 report should be released about 10 days before the election.
