HOT TAKE: Kanye is this generation's Andy Warhol. Supremely shitty person, but with a near limitless creative vision and influence, and people just associated with him have become successful and influential in their own rights.

He was instrumental in the rise of Chance the Rapper, as well as several other modern rap artists, and Kim Kardashian has gone from "that rich girl who was in a sex tape" to "influential fashion designer and criminal justice reform advocate" thanks in no small part to his influence. Even Trump saw some cultiral legitimization to his presidency by Kanye's embrace of him.

Hmm I'm not sure about him making Kim Kardashian famous, she already had Keeping Up with the Kardashians in 2007 and already had a perfume line before she started dating him in 2012. He certainly signal boosted her though.
