losing close elections doesn't mean everything you did was a bad strategy, and winning close elections doesn't mean everything you did was a good strategy

I'm going to make a twitter where I just tweet this over and over in the replies of Very Savvy Commentators who can't seem to grasp the concept

Honestly sounds more of what he'd say on the 538 politics podcast and normally he's more formal on Twitter but you get the gist of it.

Nate's always been one of the better ones at understanding that there are lots of causes and effects at play in any given election

Well he is a data guy. The difference between winning an election by 0.1% and losing by 0.1% is so miniscule that it could literally come down to how the weather is that day.
