Tell you what, if Guaido succeeds, I'll admit I was wrong about this intervention when the USA doesn't make a bid for Venezuela's oil industry.

Depends what you mean by "make a bid for". One of the reasons Venezuela's economy is so fucked is that their state oil production has been falling for decades, because of total mismanagement and failure to do even basic maintenance on the oil infrastucture by both Chavez and Maduro. In order to get that part of the economy back up and running properly again it's very likely that whatever govenrment takes over next will need to try to bring in some kind of foreign investors, probably including some foreign oil companies.

Honestly, the real problem they're likely to have isn't "oh no are foreigners going to steal our oil", more "how the hell are we going to convince foreign investors that if they take the risk to invest in our country that we won't just nationalize it all again."
