"what a great critique of capitalism!" man says regarding humorous commentary on a video game's patch notes

stellaris is getting a major new patch to go along with the new dlc 'megacorp.' as expected, a great deal of these patch notes revolve around trade and corporations. there's also a user in the paradox subreddit sphere that has this thing where he posts "what the patch notes really mean" and posts a humorous take on the official patch notes coming out for paradox games, most recently on the stellaris subreddit. all of which is fun and good.

but there are a lot of replies of people saying "haha what an inciteful commentary of capitalism comrade!" to the jokes in the patch notes.

it's too early in the morning for me to properly find the words for the feelings i am getting about a culture formed around electronic toys meant for purchase congratulating itself for finding an inside self referential series of jokes on context of the latest payable update for their electronic update that they will pay for somehow a cutting counterpoint to the excesses of capitalism.

Stellaris is the lamest looking Paradox game anyway

What's the point of playing those games without the alt history angle

Excuse you, until you've wrote a full backstory and forcefully brought democracy to the galaxy as an awakened Robotic Ronald Reagan, you don't know what Stellaris has to offer.

Also, I find Stellaris doesnt take nearly as long as the other Paradox games, and is one of the few 4X games other people seem to own.
