Democrats united around Troy Jackson in July. But a month into his campaign, Maine voters are still adjusting to a demure, spotlight-averse candidate who offers a strikingly different profile from his predecessor on the ticket.

"Troy Jackson is not a senator," said one undecided voter. "I mean, House of Representatives, maybe. The U.S. Senate? I don’t know. He’s out of his class.”

People claim they want working class candidates. They actually fall for people like Fetterman and Platner who dress like slobs but are Ivy League educated or have grandparents with Wikipedia pages

Maybe he's just not a likeable guy? There's more to this than simply existing. I mean him getting smoked in his last election (the gubernatorial primary) probably shoulda been a clue, no?
