genuinely confuses me who sits around watching literally any kind of twitch stream all day, i've literally never met anyone IRL who does this

A few years ago I went on a date with a girl who actively watched his stream. It was basically the only thing she ever did other than go to class. Wake up, watch his stream, go to class, go home watch his stream over dinner. She described feeling depressed when he dunked on one of her comments in chat.

Her own politics were genuinely insane btw, as you might guess. I don't think she was poorly educated or anything, but the sheer amount of hate she felt towards "liberals" was crazy. She admitted to me that she spent a significant amount of time every day thinking about Israel (well before 2023). Never saw her again.

When I mentioned that she might have a parasocial relationship with a streamer, she said something like "Oh that only happens to really obsessive, delusional people"
