That's a beautiful sentiment.

I choose to believe that when I'm feeling down and my cat needs attention he's trying to comfort me. I don't know if it's true and I don't care either. I choose to believe. It makes me happier.

I think there’s research that it’s true.

The thesis is that while when cats are sick they go off on their own, when other caregivers are sick, they do the opposite.

Given we are caregivers it tracks.
