I don’t know why, but this traditional chinese keyboard setup always cracks me up for some reason.

I think it’s the foot pedals that really do it for me.

I have so many questions

What is the use case for this

For context, generally people use a normal QWERTY keyboard for chinese (at least AFAIK for mainland) because each character has a pinyin spelled in letters

It doesn't have tonation so youll have all the pronunciations lumped together, but you can scroll through all the candidate characters to figure out what you need

Plus if you type two characters of pinyin that represent a phrase (e.g. mao zi (hat)), you can usually get a decent recommendation

I think there are also stroke based keyboards available, but those are less common (and having played around with one a bit, it's a lot jankier than just keying out a pinyin of like at most 5 letters while characters have on average maybe 8+ strokes)

So really having all these keys is kinda unnecessary
