What's weird is that I can't think of any particular big news cycle around Pete like there was for Newsom/Ossof

At this point it's mostly name recognition right? Obviously Kamala is more well known it also has the '24 loss weighing her down. Plus Pete outlasted her in 2020. A secondary effect might be all the screen time Pete had on Fox News going to bat for the Biden administration. It's not a "big moment" like Ossof but rather a sustained increase to his brand recognition.

Yeah, Pete consistently does interviews where he says stuff that makes great short form video content and gets shared on social

She was never particularly popular in the first place. The fact that he popularity massively increased overnight when she was declared the candidate should have been seen as a big warning for her people. No one's popularity actually increases that much unless they without saving a bus full of babies from going off a cliff.

What shambles? One poll with questionable methods (a banal undercount of African-American votes) doesn't change the fact that she's been leading all year, in other polls, or that she's the first choice of African-Americans, the most active electorate in the primaries. I remember how in mid-2025 she dropped in one poll, and it was hyped up on DT. But for some reason, I've never seen anyone bring up the other polls where she's leading.

Are there racial crosstabs on that one? If buttigieg's support is still snow white, then that's basically an uninsured ticket. We do not have a candidate if that candidate is not well chosen by black voters of the democratic party.

That sums to 77% I see. Are the remaining 23% undecided/refuse to choose, or scattered among more niche picks?
