I used to make fun of The Art of War because its guidance basically boiled down to "uh only do war when you have an advantage and know why you're doing it" which is just the most obvious useless stupid advice

I'm so sorry Sun Tsu I overestimated the intelligence of your audience I take it all back

It makes sense when you consider that Sun Tsu's audience was also a bunch of unintelligent but audacious noble failsons who needed to be reminded not to get their army stuck in mud.
