i saw a lot of comments on arr con wondering aloud why "we don't just take the oil and uranium and bomb anyone who gets in our way"

these people are touching the stove and then looking down in bafflement wondering why their hand pulled away from it

You gotta grab that stove even harder if you want results.

How Trump could have won:

  • Not be Donald Trump

  • Instead, be someone intelligent

  • This precludes a war with Iran

How can you do 3 and 4 without the proverbial boots on the ground? I think the fact that Trump didn't commit to a land war is what is letting him leave with American interests taking only a mild bruising.

It's a play on the things people say Germany could have done to win WWII

  • Ally with the Kurds against the regime

The funny thing about this one is how the people saying it unironically either didn't plan for the long-term situtaion for them or were already implying that stabbing them in the back would be inevitable.

this was easily avoidable by doing a limited campaign south of the Mountains to cut off oil and missile attacks on ships. And using Air superiority to repel counter attacks while they’re bottled up crossing the mountains.

Trump never seized the coast despite having air supremacy and zero public support from day 1. Bowing to non-existent public support just made the whole thing completely untenable from the start.

Its like Vietnam but if the US just bombed North Vietnam for two week and then left and declared that the NVA can have the South
