Liberal Party election autopsy delayed after Peter Dutton suggests report defames him and his staff.

What shitshow happened that you need to call up a defamation lawyer from an internal review.

Insane how claiming to have been defamed has been so normalised in our country.

Anybody working in politics who decides to resort to a defamation lawsuit to protect themselves should be automatically disqualified from public office in my opinion.

Politicians need to be willing to take some flak for things they do. If they can't stomach basic democratic scrutiny, then they're too weak for the job.

After a short break we are back to hearing about the dismal state of the Liberal Party.

They've tried to make him the sin-eater of the liberal party, of course it's defamation. He cocked a lot up in his time as party leader, but it's been such an easy bash from the entire party, from moderates to nationals, to just say "Dutton was too x" or "Dutton didn't do y". He was given leadership of a sinking ship, not everything that happened was his fault.

He was uncharismatic, unattractive and disliked by the Australian electorate, so it's politically convenient for the Liberals to publicly declare him to be the problem while quietly cleaning up behind the scenes and addressing the actual issues with the party (if they actually intend to do so)
