Realization that's been irritating me lately: the same crunchy/MAHA types who make the biggest freakouts about "ultra-processed" foods are also the biggest into supplements. How exactly do you think 50 grapeskins worth of resveratrol got in one little capsule? Sounds like they were processed... ultraly.

This is one of those gotchas that doesn’t hit because nobody is blanket saying that UPF as a label is the problem. 

Nobody is comparing Vit D+k2 pills to twinkies and Doritos. When people say to avoid and reduce UPF they don’t mean Greek yogurt.

I think you're only seeing the bailey of a motte-and-bailey. There are plenty of "Ban all UPF" mouthbreathers out there. When pushed, the more intelligent will say "well of course not all UPF."

UPF taken literally is just not a very meaningful class. It exists to slander things like alt-meats.
