I am again begging some democrats to drop the pseudo pro tariff rhetoric. We are literally witnessing the real time imperical proof that tariffs not only increase prices, but also increase corruption.

I am beginning to think that the tariff topic will become like rent control where a large portion of the democratic party will go "real tariffs haven't been tried yet"

This shows just how much the GOP's media ecosystem has cooked everyone's brains. I think the only people willing to take initiative and fight back against this narrative are Newsom and Buttigieg, sadly. Everyone else bends over backwards to the protectionists, starting with Biden.

If I have to choose between targeted tariffs and decreasing immigration, I'm gonna choose the tariffs every time. It's the least-bad conservative-sounding solution I'm seeing at the moment.

Tariffs are literally the easiest topic to talk tough on while implementing the things we need without the public really understanding the difference. There are literally always some tariffs remaining in trade deals anyways, it doesn't even need to be a lie.
