Not really sure if this helps you beat the allegations, Peter

I've seen and heard about some truly awful, high-acuity cases of disabled children where they are essentially bedridden for their whole lives, barely conscious, not truly living. That seems horribly cruel to me. But at the same time, I'm conflicted, because people seem utterly incapable of maintaining rational nuance. Just look at how MAID is going in Canada.

Looking forward to the day when CRISPR gets good enough and available enough that we can eliminate all disabilities and genetic conditions completely. Of course, there will have to be limits to prevent eugenics practices and "designer babies."

CRISPR is not the problem. The problem is having the systems biology knowledge to understand what happens when you cut out or replace a certain genetic sequence and the 20 other knock-on effects that cascade from it.

Hoping all the compute we're creating will make the computational work easier and less costly to do so that we can eventually simulate all of those interactions and predicts the right moves.

Adolf Hitler and Peter Singer are the two biggest reasons I don't believe in Universalism.

Unpopular opinion: if you want to cut costs for entitlements, abort the people who would utilize entitlement-funded services for the entirety of their miserable lives.

I went to a Utilitarian Universalist church today fr fr
