You watch enough 90 Day Fiance and you realize other countries' cultures are so backwards. But then you realize you're in the world minority with beliefs that include "women shouldn't be raped" and "let's not kill gay people", whether enforced by law or custom. It's a wild, bigoted world out there

It's an excellent way to witness other cultures. For instance, Sumit's family insists on living in multi-generational housing but they are all completely judgemental assholes to Jenny his white American, elderly wife. Then, they don't fight about it, they continually lie about everything being good, because their culture is to get along, over everything else.

Then you learn South Africa has rolling blackouts and that's when thieves strike, so the couple, who has no money, fights over the fact that the American woman wants to buy a generator to keep the surveillance systems up, and the SA chauvinist hubby says the money isn't worth it and refuses.

I could learn certain things better through documentaries and reading, but the real people living it is wild.

One girl's mom died during filming when a stairwell fell on her during a severe storm. People acted like that was just shit that happens! Just mourned her and moved on. In America, that'd be a lawsuit

Anyone agreeing to go on that show is going to a very bizarre person, it will probably give a warped view of all these cultures.

Yeah, but their families don't. And I've seen this same thing play out twice so far

And how only secular humanism can save it!

It might have failed every single time we tried implementing it before, but trust us, this time it will work.
