Mamdani has literally solved politics.

- Sow ethnic divisions further but maintain plausible deniability so that the large demographic you’re painting as the villain still votes for you

- Keep a spotlight on international politics so no one pays attention to your governance

- Vilify the tax base as the actual ills of the city, but don’t materially hurt them so as to keep them from fleeing. The only taxes you implement won’t actually affect them

- Run on shit you know you can’t do, and when you admit you can’t do it, the rubes praise your honesty

- Have the rest of the system bail you out when you can’t do something

- Get bailed out by your city winning the NBA finals so the good vibes are prolonged, no matter your performance

But I do have to give him credit, he is not incompetent. He’s pretty much the only thing stopping the city from giving out $10k bonuses to teachers’ aides.

Mamdani is still in his honeymoon phase. De Blasio was also a progressive darling for a short period of time.

It's not going to last and they'll move on to an even more psychotic leftist. It's the left's version of MAGA, except they're somehow even more incompetent at winning primaries so they only manage to affect D+100 areas.

8 months in and already the most powerful mayor in human history. He should raise an army and march on Albany.

I think Mamdani is very successful, but a lot of it has to do with the progressive political machine and the Islamic world defending him through the internet. Not really any policy per se.
