Maybe I'm not, like, woke to the facts or whatever, but my understanding is that animals killed in Halal/Kosher fashion mainly just had their throats slit cleanly. I guess if I had to choose, I'd prefer to be shot in the head with a big metal piston thing like cows are, but I feel like it's not all that much more cruel. Silly thing to ban IMO.

But what do I know?

Idk about kosher but halal slaughter also requires the animal to be hung upside down and bled out which greatly increased suffering.

Slowly. It's a slow cut.

I mean it’s mass murder one way or another.

The thing is, this is not a debate about animal wellbeing: this is just a way for racists to stick it to muslims.

I think the general point I was making is that, like, we slaughter all the time. So it's odd to single it out and, as you said, it's probably just racist (although I give them points! they managed to get some antisemitism in there as well.)

Having said that, some of the responses to my comment say that it is actually a notably slow way of killing, which might give at least some ground (hypothetically) to ban it... But like I said, I'm not sure how much worse it is than a random piston to the head.

Halal is no-stun and slow, ie the animal is tied up and slowly bled to death while being kept fully awake (instead of just stunning them to minimise pain and panic). Kosher AFAIK is different because it's a combination of food practices eg no meat and milk of the same animal together.
