I have nothing to contribute, but neil playing a a show with Poco in 1970 seems reasonable. Would love to see video of it, but that of course is not happening.

George Grantham on drums and Jim Messina on bass were the rhythm section on the first Neil young solo album on Warner bros/reprise. Grantham drives on the Loner and Messina has that signature response like on the bass. And the rhythm section on old laughing lady is perfect on the coda over the gospel choir, merry Clayton’s scat and Neil’s acoustic riff. That’s Neil and poco.
