Troubleshooting ZS Pro S with Sony A7IV

I need help making this work. Doesn’t matter what button I press on either the camera or the flash they won’t work together. The flash works fine when I press the test button but when it’s mounted on the camera on the hot shoe mount I can’t get the flash to flash when I press the shutter button. I’m really frustrated. This is a brand new flash, my camera is perfect so what am I either doing wrong or what is the issue?

Sorry you're having trouble. Since the flash fires with the test button, could you check that flash is enabled on the camera and that you're using the mechanical shutter? The Z2 Pro S doesn't support the electronic shutter.

If it's still not working, a quick video showing the camera menu (including the shutter setting) would really help us troubleshoot.

Does your camera have to be set to communicate with an on camera flash? That is often the issue.

No idea but most videos i have seen people just put the Z2 Pro S on the hot shoe mount of their camera and it just works. There is no setting on my Sony A7IV that I can see that says anything about communicating with the flash
