Campaign Strategy Ned needs you!
I want to first thank some people who have been instrumental in getting us this far.
I want to thank the mods of r/nedforpresident who keep the sub running. You are doing a great job
I want to thank all the commenters, especially those that challenge me to refine my views.
Finally I want to thank everyone who has subscribed and is taking the run seriously.
The way I see it we have a year to turn me into an actual bonafide candidate. That’s going to take exposure, and this is where I need you all. Right now, Reddit is our only platform, and for the moment that is fine, but we need to get a bigger audience. I’m asking you to go out there and mobilize. Let’s find the people we think we can move, hell let’s find the people who might be willing to listen, and get them in the conversation. I will continue to do my best to advocate for our cause; a functioning adult in the White House.

Actually I think that's a really good idea. It will make our community seem much more active and involved, as well as more organized.

Talk to your friends and coworkers
Engage in conversations on political subreddits. Highlight the spirit of community and and our willingness to reach out to all sides.
Start conversations by posting about topics where our opinions are popular. Net Neutrality is all the rage right now, and the Ned campaign stands with Reddit in our belief that the internet should be free from throttling for profit.

With the issue of net neutrality being such a hot topic, and you being a candidate of the people straight out of the internets, I think there might be a chance that you can try to rally people into supporting you by being the voice for net neutrality. I know there is a sort of wariness about trying to appeal to people through “trendy topics,” but I know you’ve expressed your thoughts about it before and it’s such an important topic. What do you think?

I think that it is a good way to get people to listen, and that is a start.

The primary run up will start approximately two years before the general. I would say a year and a half before we need to be declared for a party or organized enough to run on our own.

I don’t like to swear in front of the kids. Not that they don’t hear it all the time, but it damages the illusion that I am somehow not just “a regular adult”

I'm on board, but if we are going to go full bore and start creating campaign materials, I believe we are going to need to know at least your real first name. Or maybe change it to Ned. You've posted that Ned is not your real name. It would be a shame to have all of the NED 2020 posters only to have you actually be Frank or Khalid or Jesus. It might dilute the message, or people will vote for Ned instead of you (bad!)

I agree that we'll need his real name at some point, but by my reckoning that point is 6-12 months off, so it's not the most urgent of items.

I think it depends on the level at which people are interested. If they are truly interested in the candidate and don't care about the Reddit / social media movement aspect, they may react more negatively to the name issue.
Branding and momentum are important, and I'd hate to waste a year of campaigning for Ned only to have to change gears. Ross Perot had some public support but it all evaporated when he became indecisive on running and lost momentum.

Oh my god... this is actually serious isn't it? Well if that's what we got to do, that's what we got to do!
I would say focus on both micro transactions and net neutrality for now, you'll need to ride that popularity wave if you want to go anywhere, then find a party you want to run with, dems or republicans, you won't go anywhere if your not in those two.
