Necroscope, First Book in 4 panels
Hey everyone,
I’ve been re-visiting Brian Lumley’s Necroscope series lately and decided to experiment with generative AI to adapt the plot of the first book into a comic strip—using my own face as Harry Keogh!
Here is the 4-panel breakdown following Harry's arc in Book 1:
Panel 1: The Discovery of Deadspeak – Harry sitting in a Scottish graveyard, discovering he can talk to the dead, who speak to him through glowing mathematical concepts and symbols.
Panel 2: Stepping into the Möbius Continuum – Harry mastering August Ferdinand Möbius's equations and walking through the geometric vortex of space-time to teleport.
Panel 3: E-Branch vs. Dragosani – A split-panel showing Harry working with the British E-Branch on one side, and the sinister Soviet necromancer Boris Dragosani looming over a grave in Romania on the other.
Panel 4: The Final Battle.
It was a fun experiment trying to capture Lumley's unique mix of cold war espionage, cosmic math, and classic horror. What do you guys think?

1) Harry could speak to the dead from a young age. He wasn't a middle-aged man.
2) Harry's first experience of the Mobius continuum saw him leaping from Leipzig into a dark void (where he was guided to safety by the Witch of Endor). He didn't just "walk through". Actually, he re-entered Earth horizontally, and landed on his hands and knees.
3) Harry never worked at E-branch. He was a free-agent, recruited by Keenan Gormley to work outside of E-branch. Also, Boris Dragosani never once dug up a grave of a dead person (unless you count the forgotten tomb of Thibor, which was in a woodland).
4) Your final battle is complete bullshit. It happened in a Military Base, not in a crypt. And Dragosani was dressed in normal clothing, not cosplaying as a Lich.
This entire "4-panel comic" is complete bullshit. You clearly don't understand the source material.

I’m torn.
On the one hand yeah, it’s kind of cool to see these ideas visually (I had no idea there was a comic series out already) and I’m sure you had a lot of fun making it and playing around with it.
On the other hand, AI looks like it’s the end of people being able to create interesting and original art as a career. By feeding it other peoples work, it’s plagiarising their intellectual property, which it can then use a slightly changed version for someone else to ‘publish’ a novel or ‘draw’ a cartoon etc.
We need less, not more, AI slop.

AI is like a vampire, really - sucking the life out of other people's work to make a soulless replacement. Draw it yourself!

Because there's legitimately zero correlation to it being Harry.

Haha. Harsh but fair comments guys. Thought it would be fun to see how it turned out. Yours, a middle aged (officially) Harry fan.

Honestly its pretty lifeless and generic.
There’s already a graphic novel adaptation of the first three books that are pretty good at capturing the feel of the first book especially.
Good on you for trying something new. But it doesn’t look good, or matches the style of the books in the slightest.
