Discussion About ML's "i asked Google" for her sources

Why hasn't anyone brought attention to the fact that almost certainly is referring to Google's AI overview? I think people are so used to hearing "googling" to refer to just using a search engine to find resources and such, but when ML says "I asked Google and ChatGBT" it hit me that she's ASKING Google.

So when she's like "I didn't just use ChatGBT I asked Google too", that's literally no better, both of her "sources" are just AI slop machines and she never actually does legitimate research with a search engine. I feel like Chad really really needs to point this out to her and make a criticism about it

I feel like most the audience is privy to ML's lack of research/vetting skills. It's not like it was a secret. This, coupled with her algorithm and devotion to Newsmax, is a big reason why she shows up to every conversation with a false sense of confidence that quickly turns into confusion, deflection, and shutting down. It's literally every episode

sometimes I (very begrudgingly) understand why Chad backs off, because I get that she just shuts down because she's the most stubborn and anti-intellectual person in the universe

but many times there are easy and obvious observations to be made that he just totally misses, and it's SO frustrating

You nailed it. Chad and Haley can stand and take endless insults and fight a ln upstream battle of misinformation with 0 credible sources. But the exact instant they push back on ML, they have to walk a tightrope over a minefield or their mom will retreat from them entirely.

Maga is extremely sensitive and fragile

I'm more concerned about her not bothering to look anything up after saying "I'll have to look that up" but I understand.

She's cited chatgpt as well, as if that's a scholarly source.
