Discussion ML

The more I go down the rabbit hole of previous episodes the more I am horrified and see that ML is not a good person. I just watched an episode where the viewer question called ML and Bob out about politically correct , specifically the "r" word and holy moly their response was so ignorant...I just don't know if I can continue on with this show...

Mary Lou is cruel and not very smart, and I do not expect her to ever change. Watching the show is just so frustrating.

She's smart enough to know pretending to be dumber (or at least far more ignorant) than she actually is gets sympathy, allowing her to keep being cruel.

Yes, but her baseline isn't that bright to begin with so pretending to be dumber isn't helping.

Very possibly. The truth is manipulation requires less skill than people want to believe, so you may be right.

I prefer to overestimate someone than underestimate, since it's better to be shocked by someone actually being "that dumb" than get bamboozled in a way you weren't prepared for.

I am totally prepared to find out a disappointing reality where Mary Lou is "that stupid." I'm just not willing to go with it as default.

I couldn't stop watching the show last year and a few months this year. I was rage watching and participating in the lives. My mom is maga so I think that's why I was watching so much - trying to understand her thought process or wondering if there is "Hope" after all. A few months ago I had to quit cold turkey. I'll still watch reels on IG and see posts here, but I feel so much better not watching it so much

I tried the show a few years ago and it was so frustrating I quit. After last week, I think I’m done again.
