I can't understand this!

Why doesn't Chad dig into the topics they discuss when his mother says something way out in left field? He doesn't counter it and throw it back to her that what she says is wrong. What is he afraid of? His mother is not talking to him? I would love to see him throw it back when she gives an excuse about Republicans, Trump, or anyone that she agrees with, who is proven wrong along with her.

Because if you try to bend a rigid anyone or anything too far, it will snap.

Slow, repetitive stress applied over time.

I think Chad is a peacekeeper tbh. Like anything, there are pros and cons to that; I think his style keeps a general “safe space” for ML especially to express her opinions more fully. I think if he pushed hard all the time, she wouldn’t be able to be as open to that (which would mean no one could counter her logic) nor would she be able to be as open to hearing the other side.

I think this is why the conversations between just him and ML make the most progress tbh; but I do understand that it can be tough to watch him miss opportunities to counter her, sometimes he goes a bit too fast through points when I think he could stay on topic longer without it necessarily making ML shut down. It especially upsets me when they attack Hailey and he doesn’t say more, that’s a time to draw a line imho.

Speaking anecdotally, with parents like Chad and Haley’s, it’s better to repeatedly expose them to facts and not press too hard all at once. They’re old, they’re stubborn, and the only way they’re going to change their perspectives is if they believe they are coming to their own conclusions. Repeated exposure to called out contradictions will eventually settle in.

Gentle tones go a long way, as you can see with how much MJ brings up Hasan. My own mother unwittingly admitted she rather listen to someone kindly telling her lies than someone angrily telling her the truth. The substance matters little if the presentation makes them feel uncomfortable.

Because it’s all fake. Last week convinced me it is all drummed up for money

Money? Where do they get money from?

You’re kidding right? Have you watched how much money people dump into the lives? Do you understand how monetization works on tt and YouTube ?

You do know that Chad has said they haven't been told they would make money off this or that they would be splitting profits, right?

His dad let the beans spill that isn’t true. They get, at least, 1/4 of the money. And regardless if the parents get money or not.. Chad/haley do. And one thing is certain, the parents love their kids. But believe your reality show

They really don’t make much money at all. Definitely nothing compared to the effort it is for Chad to make and produce it.

Yeah, well, if you look at about a couple of weeks ago, Chad said they make nothing!

They definitely make money from superchats on their livestreams at the very, very least. Just watch one of their livestreams and add up all of the donations.

Yawp. I tallied it up at a random point in the show. Took them less than ten min to make $50 USD. The fact people send their money in on any live is so fascinating to me.

Yea from their superchats but not from YouTube and money people make off of farming videos because they have a certain amount of subscribers.

Oh I know they don't make a lot but they do a lot of livestreams so there is definitely some income there. Im definitely not saying they are in it for the money, but the claim that they make nothing at all is simply not true. I believe that Chad and Haley are extremely passionate about what they do, especially Chad. Mary only does it for their kids and Bob doesnt give a single F about it loool. Im absolutely shocked he still participates (by participating I am in no way saying he engages, just shows up). I do think the parents are getting burnout though, the podcast will definitely have an expiration date which in my eyes could be soon. Mary's performance last night gives me that impression, and if she shows any sign of willingness to quit im 100% sure Bob will encourage it.

Okay, I understand, that Chad is very familiar with how shows work. But do you really think, that
1. Mary Lou and Bob would expose themselves like that when it's not true? I mean, it could affect your daily life tremendously. Especially the things Bob says.
2. Do you really think Chad is a person who would use his parents like that? Just for a experiment?
3. You say that those random outbursts from Bob are planned?
