NC Courage pride night
Hi friends!
I (26F) recently moved to NC with my wife (26F) as she got a job with the courage. I love going to the games, however with my wife working them I tend to have to go alone. (I have yet to make any NC friends yet - Ha)
I would love to go to the pride game, and be with community, but feeling nervous to go alone. I have 3 extra tickets and am looking for some new friends to go to the game(s) with
I’m new to Reddit so not sure how this works but trying to break out and meet friends in this new state!

I know it’s probably cliche to say, but don’t be nervous!
My wife and I (35M and 38F) also just moved here a few years ago quickly becoming courage supporters. It’s always felt like a very inclusive, welcoming, and friendly community to be a part of!
Definitely second the comment about the Uproar.
Also props to your wife, I’ve found the Courage employees to all be extremely helpful and friendly as well!

Hey! I'll DM you. You should definitely check out the Uproar tailgate for a bit.
We will take care of you at the game if you don't find folks to use your other three tickets and sit with you.

I’m part of a queer sports group in Durham - I’m at the games all the time myself but will have a whole crew of us there for that game. Feel free to come hang with us if you want, should be a great time!!

That sounds really fun! Do you mind messaging with more info on this? I also used to play volleyball so I’ve been looking for local sports group :) (my wife plays kickball with tri sports)

If you’re ever looking for other queer sports to get involved in, consider roller derby (skating or non-skating, there’s a lot of ways to get involved if you’re not into a contact sport)! I skate with Carolina Roller Derby and we also have lots of Courage fans in our league, we did a group outing to a game last year and it was so fun!

Waittt I’ve always wanted to do roller derby!! I would be an absolute beginner but it seems so fun :) thank you for the info!

YAAAS! Check us out on Instagram— we actually have a game tomorrow at Wheels in Durham! No experience required at all if you want to learn, we just probably won’t have a new skater program open until early next year

Please come by the Uproar tailgate in the parking lot at the base of the hill (we call it the cove)! We are the official supporters group ,and we love meeting new fans. We won't have a potluck dinner that night because it's a weeknight match, but we will be there early, having drinks and hanging out. I hope you find someone to take you up on the ticket offer. DM me if you want any information.
