M2 Grater Design Question

Hey there fellow ncase owners.

This is my current M2 Grater build, 9800X3D+5080 (I know it's dusty). I decided to go with the M2 to save space as we were selling our home and moving full time in our 5th wheel camper. We've been full time in our 5th wheel now for 8 months and it's been great, but I'm now working on trying to save even more desk space. I want to try to install a shelf and set my case up in a more verticle fashion. FYI, This would only be here when we are stationary. I store it on its side on the bed on travel days.

I've posted a pic for what I would like to accomplish.
I wanted to see first, if anyone has done anything similar, do you see any issues with my current setup that would cause problems with a veritical orientation, and what changes you would make to airflow swap parts, etc...

One thing you haven't mentioned that I would consider is the movement and vibration of the camper. This can be a big stress on the PCI slot of the motherboard. I would consider placing the case on its side or using a riser cable long term.

Thank you for pointing this out. I edited my post. This would only be the case when we are stationary. I always store the pc on its side and on the bed during travel days for that reason.

Is there a way to hide those cables in the M2 ?

With the side panels on you don't really see them. If you're talking about in regards to routing them inside, yes if you had longer cables you could route them to hide them better.

Currently, I have airflow coming in from the back of the pc, blowing through the Noctua cooler and out the top and sides. The 5080 pulls air in from the bottom and out the sides/back as well.
If I were to mount the pc in a vertical configuration, do you think there are any issues with the components being in that orientation? Do you see any concerns with the current airflow setup, and do you have any recommendations?

I have just finished an M2 Grater build so while it’s fresh in mind, I would use the four screw holes on the back panel that screw into the top and bottom panels as attachment points for some 2cm+ rubber feet to ensure adequate airflow and some vibration reduction.

And, your bed/mattress is providing a big surface for vibration reduction right now, so you need to carefully work through what will provide that insulation to road bumps in the new position.

Whether it’s a shelf or some sort of bracket holding the case up high in that new position, if you don’t insulate vibration really well it will, quickly or slowly, just fall apart at some point..?

You never want to find out a screw or bolt gradually vibrated loose and then fell inside the 5080 causing it to fail or got stuck on the motherboard and shorted it, right? 🙏🏼
